We're rolling out our latest product development at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kentucky this week. The DEF Delivery Solution, an option on all 750 and 990 gallon ag diesel trailers from Thunder Creek Equipment, is getting quite a bit of attention.
Manufacturers like Case IH, Challenger, AGCO, and Massey-Ferguson are using DEF, short for Diesel Exhaust Fluid, on their 2011 equipment models with high horsepower engines. The urea-based fluid controls emissions as required by the EPA's Tier 4 regulations.
Farmers can now bring diesel exhaust fluid to the field in the same trailer they use to haul their diesel fuel. Two options are available from Thunder Creek Equipment:
- A 100 gallon DEF tank (mounted between the front toolbox and diesel fuel tank) is an option available on all new trailers
- A 60 gallon DEF tank (mounted above the front toolbox and diesel fuel tank) in an option on both new trailers and retrofitted for previously purchased trailers
Each DEF tank is made of stainless steel and has a dedicated, non-corrosive pumping system.
Perhaps the neatest feature is the 2-in-1 pumping system. It can be used to pump DEF into the trailer from the bulk supply and then reversed to pump DEF out of the trailer into the equipment.
